Kickstarter Launched 2 days ago. IT ALREADY RAISED A WHOLE $1.00 US DOLLAR! WOW! "GEE WILLIKERS BEAVER".
Wow.. Kickstarter helped me raise an astounding $1.00 !! SO FAR! Incredible! I'm rich bitch!
I'm just blown away guys. Please see the amazing amount of cash such a venue is bringing to independent gamers!
All kidding aside, I have not told Family or Friends about the Kickstarter to see what the website could do to bring notice to my first Indy horror game using Unreal Engine. I wanted to see what Kickstarter could do for eyeballs. So far, the stats are phenomenal.
Currently... literally a few trolls and haters commenting. When I thought I raised my first real funder. A YouTube Troll decided to let me know that the $1.00 was automatic and more lame trollness. "OUCH". Fock Trolls & haters. I wanna see them build a game and get people to play it. If they did, surely they would not be so hell bent on trying to get others to "feel badly". Or would they? Would a famous gamer / Indy Developer troll on new developers trying to make their first game?! Or... would they be celebrating their own accomplishments? Perhaps.. Perhaps more so they would see the hard work they put into such a lesson of learning a new gaming engine called Unreal engine, trying to figure out all the protocols, ideas, strategies and efforts to produce something playable. I imagine someone successful either too busy to making their next art piece to distribute to the world or wanting to help others not hating on certain details.
I don't think I will let family or friends know my Kick Starter launched because I really don't know enough people to meet the total I want to raise to build and work on the full game of Psycho Circus full time while finishing Graduate School. Let's just see where this ends up shall we?
Regardless of the hate ship out there, I am going to finish Psycho Circus part time if I cannot get the support from Kickstarter. I know with family and friends I would not raise enough with their help anyways. Could it bring attention to the game? Sure.. but most won't or cannot even download the demo due to bad computer or other issues.
Most have not had time to play it. Getting others to do something outside of Pornhub, or Netflix these days is impossible. Unless some major advertiser caught their eyeballs after working all damn day at a job... they are so tired of working at...
I get it.. I really do. Independent gamers are LIT because they do it for the fun of it. I am already working on ways to start finishing the game in chapters after I finish the full Demo. I plan on selling here at thegameuniverse.com using Square as well as Steam and Robot Cache.com. I don't plan on Kickstarter working out now and that's ok. Let it run it's course and maybe get some link juice. Learn and keep trying. That's what we all do in life really...
DEAR FUTURE! I saw Mr. Beast post on YouTube. He wrote himself a message. My message is to future me. I hope I keep at this, finish and produce a game that 100,000 have come to love and play. A Million? Well.... Why not. LOL
We all got to keep dreaming. Or life will suck all our hope.
